Layar is an app that allows you to use augmented reality to amplify print materials. Earlier this semester a colleague and I used Layar in developing a poster series for an exhibition.
And now, I’m experimenting with Layar’s possibilities for enhanced book covers. Do you own a copy of Love Comes Later? Each part of the cover is clicks through to interviews, videos, and blog posts that tell you more about the book.
What do you think? Should writers keep finding more ways to draw readers into the text? Or keep it simple?
Check out the video below to see how Layar works.
Very excited to exhibit in an art installation this week. Co-curated material with a colleague, Law Alsobrook, who’s idea it as to use Layar, to add additional material to our posters. Layar allows you to scan a piece of work and access additional materials on a secondary site. See how it works here. (And we’ll have the posters up here later this month).
