Friday Fashion: Linen in the Office

I love linen, even in the desert, because it is a breathable (if wrinkly) fabric. Here’s a dress that has stitched detail under the bust and lower torso that offers a sophisticated take on green, proving you can be feminine and professional. Another outfit courtesy of my favorite department store in Doha, Marks & Spencer’s. You don’t have to sacrifice style in order to be taken seriously.

I’m pictured with one of my colleagues, a woman who is bravely undergoing cancer treatment. She’s wearing a turban. I’ve cut 10 inches off my hair to donate to Locks of Love.

I love the new hairstyle because it makes getting ready even easier. As every mother knows, every second counts.

Friday Fashion: Personality at Work

Welcome to a new feature on the blog, inspired by Mami’s Timeout, Fashion Fridays.

I’ve got two children under the age of four, so time is rarely on my side. My solution to being short on time is the dress.

A sheath dress that ends below the knee can be worn in most office situations and still allow for a little flair.

Here’s one of my favorites: A variation on piano keys. From Marks and Spencer, a British department store, for $80.

Even better: machine washable. Now that’s fashion I can use.
