The 2nd annual EcoHeroes Film Challenge is an exciting opportunity for students to creatively interpret the theme “Sustainable Lifestyle: Actions for Change.” The aim is to produce original short films within a one week period that showcase innovative solutions for a greener future or highlight the consequences of ignoring sustainability.

The EcoHeroes Film Challenge supports teams of all ages and genders to create a short film within 48 hours to interpret the spirit of sustainability and showcase innovative solutions for a greener future – or how ignoring them will be detrimental to all our collective wellbeing. 

Teams will create original films that respond to the theme “Sustainable Lifestyle: Actions for Change.” This competition invites filmmakers, students, and creatives of all ages, to produce short films that capture 

Key Details:

  • Kick-Off Date: Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Team Composition: 4-6 participants (aged 6 years and older), with at least one 13-year-old female team member.
  • Registration: Free and open to the public. Individuals can register as well, and we can assist in finding teams if needed.
  • Screening: Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

Remember: you can discuss your roles – writer, director, producer, actor – and even cast your project but no writing or filming should happen before our workshop on November 1st.

This the second year of the Challenge and we have seen the creativity and passion of young people to make a real impact through digital storytelling. It’s a unique chance for them to explore important environmental issues and contribute their voice to the sustainability movement in a fun and educational way.

The program has attracted participants from over 100 schools in Qatar who compete to win prizes from hotel spas, business lunches, and co-working spaces. 

Some selected films are also submitted to international film festivals in the United States, the UK, and South Asia.
